Additive Manufacturing of Thermosetting Composite structures

This work reports the unique manufacture and analysis of polymer composites made through Additive Manufacturing. By building a novel AM process that combines two dissimilar polymers, we can utilize the differing properties to produce more effective structures with architected anisotropic properties.

Through my Master’s program, I have been able to build onto a Lulzbot Workhorse thermoplastic printer to print both thermoplastics and thermosetting materials through a pneumatic paste extruder autonomously.
